The Muladhara Chakra is the foundation of our life, the very desire to live, satisfaction of basic human needs: sleep, food, drink, shelter, procreation. The Root Chakra is associated with the processes of apana – excretion of metabolism products, cleansing, and elimination of physical, emotional and mental toxins.
Strong balanced Root Chakra gives us good health, strength, material well-being, a sense of security and stability, self-confidence, the ability to let into our life what we really need, what nourishes us and eliminates harmful toxic products, situations and relationships. It is in the first Chakra, at the base of the spine that the coiled curl energy Kundalini, the power of our spiritual awakening, resides.
